Cities Information
A city is defined as a large, permanent human settlement where many people live and work. Most large cities consist of a metropolitan center surrounded by residential suburbs. The first ancient city is thought to have been the city of Uruk, dating back to 4000 B.C. in what is now present day Iraq. Currently 26 urban areas around the world qualify as megacities with over 10 million residents.
