Spain Information

Spain is the fourth largest country in Europe, and its inhabitants account for about 6.36 percent of Europe's population. Spain's population density is about 241 persons per square mile. Spain occupies about eighty percent of the Iberian peninsula, which is separated from the rest of continental Europe by the Pyrenees mountain range. Large, arid plateaus, known as Mesetas, occupy much of central Spain, while the Sierra Nevada mountains shield the southern coast from colder weather to the north.
