Skis are pairs of long narrow pieces of hard flexible material, typically pointed and turned up at the front. They fasten under the feet for gliding over snow in the recreational sport known as skiing. Downhill skis include all-mountain skis, powder skis, and backcountry skis, which come in men's, women's, and children's varieties. Skiing is a popular recreational sport which is commonly undertaken in the winter season.
